3-Strikes Ranch is a working ranch dedicated to preserving the wild Mustang. We provide assistance for horses in need and a natural environment for over 300 wild Mustangs to run in their own prairies of the Sand Hills. Horses are what 3-Strikes Ranch is all about.

Our Mission:
♦ Enhance the Mustang's quality of life by creating a natural setting that fosters the independence and integrity of the wild horses
♦ To Educate the public on the wonders of these Living Legends.
♦ To Preserve a disappearing western way of life by showcasing and training beautiful Mustangs on a Western Nebraska ranch.

Mustangs are small naturalized horses of the Western Plains, descended from horses brought to the America's by the Spanish explorer Cortés in the 1519. Mustangs did not reach Nebraskan Sand Hills until the 1680's. In 1971, the United States Congress recognized Mustangs as "living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West, which continue to contribute to the diversity of life forms within the Nation and enrich the lives of the American people". They are now protected under the Wild Free-Roaming Horse and Burro Act of 1971.

Today, wild Mustangs (and burros) are managed by the Bureau of Land Management to ensure that healthy herds thrive on healthy rangelands. Population control is done through a capture program and most of these horses are available for adoption. Unfortunately there are more horses available for adoption than there are individuals and groups to provide humane long term care. This is where 3-Strikes Ranch truly shines with over 2000 acres for these living symbols of the American spirit to run free.
